26SS-REDAおすすめ生地をご紹介
皆様、こんにちは。
少しずつ季節の変わり目を感じるこの時期。個人的には花粉をちらほら感じる季節でもあり、なんだか複雑な気持ちです。薬に頼りまくってこれからを乗り越えていこうと思います。
そんなどうでもいい話はさておき、あっという間に生地入れ替わりのタイミングになりました！ファッション感度の高い方は既に次シーズンで着るお洋服の準備や計画を立て始めてる方もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。麻布テーラーでは2月中旬から～３月上旬にかけて春夏生地が本格的に受注いただけるようになります。
今回はイタリアの紳士服地メーカーとして有名な“REDA社”のスーツ生地をご紹介させていただきます。これから準備を始める方は少しでも参考にしていただけると幸いです！
REDA(レダ)とは
1865年創業のイタリア・ビエラ地方を代表する老舗メーカー。
自社で原毛調達から紡績・織り上げまで一貫して行っているため、安定した品質とコストパフォーマンス高さが魅力です。
イタリア生地を初めてオーダーされる方でも比較的挑戦しやすく、生地感も繊細すぎず、デイリーユースしやすいためビジネス用としてもおすすめです！
まずは平織り(トロピカル)のご紹介。
軽いウェイトのものが多く、織り目が均一で空気の通り道ができやすいため、蒸れにくく通気性が良いのが特徴。春夏秋の気温が高い時期には快適な着心地。隙間が多くなるため、光沢などは綾織り(後述)の方が出やすいです。
続いて綾織りのご紹介。
いわゆるオールシーズンといわれている生地はこの織り方が多いです。斜めの畝(うね)があり、上品な光沢が出やすい。スーツに高級感が出る為ため、ワンランク上の印象を演出できます。
糸の密度が高いので、通気性や快適さは平織り(前述)の方が勝っています。
こういったように織り方によっても特性が変わってくるので、用途や時期、着用頻度などによってスーツ使い分けていただくのが、本来はおすすめです。もちろん、着数が増えてこないとなかなか難しいとは思いますが、、、

26SS – Recommended REDA Fabrics
Hello everyone,
As we begin to feel the gradual change of seasons, it also happens to be the time when I start noticing seasonal allergies—so I’m preparing to get through the coming weeks with plenty of medication!
Putting that aside, it’s already time for our seasonal fabric update. Those with a keen sense for fashion may already be planning their wardrobe for the next season. At Azabu Tailor, our spring–summer fabrics will be fully available for ordering from mid-February through early March.
This time, we would like to introduce suit fabrics from REDA, a renowned Italian mill. We hope this will be helpful for anyone beginning to prepare for the upcoming season.
About REDA
Founded in 1865 in the Biella region of Italy, REDA is a historic fabric manufacturer.
Because the company manages everything in-house—from raw wool sourcing to spinning and weaving—it offers consistent quality and excellent value.
REDA fabrics are also a great entry point for those ordering Italian fabrics for the first time. They are refined yet durable rather than overly delicate, making them easy to wear for everyday business use.
Plain Weave (Tropical)
First, let us introduce plain-weave (tropical) fabrics.
These fabrics are typically lightweight with an even weave structure that allows air to pass through easily, making them breathable and comfortable. They are ideal for warmer seasons such as spring, summer, and early autumn.
Because of the more open structure, they generally have less sheen than twill fabrics (introduced below).
Twill Weave
Next is twill weave.
Many so-called “all-season” fabrics use this weave. The diagonal texture creates an elegant sheen, giving suits a more luxurious and refined appearance.
Due to the higher yarn density, however, breathability and cool comfort are slightly lower than plain-weave fabrics.
As you can see, the characteristics of a suit change depending on the weave. Ideally, suits are selected according to purpose, season, and frequency of wear. Of course, building such a wardrobe takes time—but we are here to help.
